Beaches. Now THIS is Vacation

Our last few days in Costa Rica were spent near the beach. The water is warm and clear. It may seem strange for us to go to the beach since we live ten minutes away from it at home, but our beaches suck. We need Costa Rican style beaches.

Gorgeous water in front. Rainforest in back.

We found bamboo in the ocean! Look how proud we are here.

I dug a hole and set up a shrine. Here I am dancing around it. Lord of the Flies!

The next day we took a hike through the nature preserve.

We ran into this not so little guy on our hike.

We made our way to a beach that was only accessible through the nature preserve, so it was a lot less crowded. We ran across a lot of these little guys.

We took the time to snap some photos, playing in the sun.

Some of us decided to snap some other hobby photos.

On our hike out we ran across Leafcutter Ants. These guys are incredible.

We grabbed a bite to eat at El Avion restaurant. This is such a cool looking restaurant, and it only cost $3,000 for them to buy it.

Travel by Boat, Horse, Zip Line

The spa wrapped up our stay in La Fortuna/Arenal. The next morning we made our journey to Monteverde.

We started out traveling via boat across the lake.

Then we got onto horses. Look we have the same haircut!

Here is the gang on the horses. That’s me in the back, very unhappy. I won’t be riding a horse again.

For dinner we went to Tree House. Did anyone see us on the webcam?

We took advantage of the nice ambiance to snap some photos. Here is Michelle with tree in background.

Hola, chica. Dame besos y abrazos.

The next morning my back was hurting so all my friends offered to take a crack at unknotting it. It hurt so bad. Look at how red my back turned. Why does he look so happy?

Fortunately I my back didn’t bother me enough to stop me from this.

This was a big deal for me. I don’t like roller coasters. They scare me.

Glad to be back in America

It’s good to finally be home again. With a week long trip in Costa Rica so much happened. I’ll break it down into a couple days at a time with just a few highlights to make it more manageable and to milk it for all the attention.

Friends, the people you won’t hate after a solid week with them.

There’s a raft under all that water somewhere.

Rappelling down a waterfall.

Looking up at the camera, not down at the ground below.

250 feet up in the air. My friends look like ants. Maybe they can go to the Derek Zoolander Center For Kids Who Can’t Read Good And Wanna Learn To Do Other Stuff Good Too.

After rappelling we decided to relax at Tabacon, a hot springs spa heating by the volcano. This is one of the many pools.

img_7852

This waterslide heats the main pool. It’s super hot. There’s a creepy, old man waiting for me to get out of the pool.

img_7840

After a few too many drinks at the swim up bar, we kept asking Alice to take picture of us.

I don’t know why I didn’t step out of this picture.

More to come later. Stay tuned, everyone!

Never Want to Go Home

I finally hit a hotel with free WiFi, so I will make this short and sweet. I am having a great time here with Michelle and all my friends. Costa Rica is a beautiful country and we have done so many fun things

We return in three days. Stayed tuned here and Michelle’s site for more.
