Unforgettable…unless you are drunk.

This Saturday was Unforgettable, Koream’s annual event, where everyone gets dressed up to rub elbows with the stars. It’s a great event with a lot of great sponsors, and the fact that alcohol is sponsored for the event and after party makes it even better.

This Kid Puts Me to Shame

For all of you that think you know your rock history, it is incomplete without knowing the history and the catalog of The Beatles. Here is a kid that is quite young and doesn’t even speak English. Yet somehow he manages to sing one of the classics.

If you look at related YouTube videos, it’s unfortunate that the parents of his kid seem to be whoring him out for stardom though. Make it big through your kid!

And Some More Koreans I Don’t Know

This Saturday was KoreAm Journal’s annual Unforgettable. I’m not sure what the official premise is exactly. It’s a celebration of Korean Americans and their accomplishments or something along those lines. At the least it is a good time with a lot of Korean people, some famous in entertainment and others high ranking business men and women. If any of you are ever invited to this event, black tie is more of a suggestion than a requirement.

The venue, Park Plaza Hotel in Los Angeles.

I sat next to Kae Whang from Biggest Loser. I’ve never watched the show so I didn’t know who she was at first, but I never would have guessed she was on the show. She looks great. Her final weigh in was the day after this event, so she was fasting. I tried not to enjoy my meal so much in front of her. The good thing was that she was getting her meal packed to go for later, but the wait staff kept bringing her food anyway, which she shared with us.

Remember no more than fifteen years ago when you served something like this, someone would ask when the food was going to come out? Fancy places sometimes piss me off.

That guy from American Idol. You know, the Asian guy that’s not William Hung. I don’t know his name.

Gifts provided by the sponsors. I won’t tell you what they were, because I’m re-gifting some things I received.

All in all it was a fun night. Other notable Korean names you might know that were there are Joe Hahn, Yul Kwon, Bobby Lee, Will Yun Lee, Moon Bloodgood, James Kyson Lee, and Rex Lee. I’m sure Michelle can give you a much more comprehensive list of name and achievements that were in attendance.

There was an after party following the dinner with more free booze and dancing, but by half past midnight, Michelle and I decided to call it a night and head home. I heard some people say it wasn’t as fun as years past, but I still had fun and look forward to going to another one of these events. It’s always nice when you’re invited to events, even if you don’t know anyone in the room and it smells like kimchi. Just kidding about that last part. It smelled like soju and whiskey.
