Blame the Chinese

Scientists have said the melting polar ice caps are responsible for the rising ocean levels. Yay, beach front property! I would like to offer another explanation for the rising waters, a problem that has plagued the world for a long time. China.

Those guys can’t stop making babies over there. It must be something in the rice. I think they’re weighing down their continent and displacing the water in the oceans like a couple of fat kids in an inflatable raft.

Let’s just hope they don’t all decide to jump at the same time and hurl Earth off it’s orbit and into the sun.

Global Nothing

Let me first start off by saying that I am somewhat ignorant on this topic, which is not unlike most other topics, but I won’t pretend to know everything about this topic. Please feel free to give me references and information that you’ve found on the subject. Let’s talk about our environment.

Can anyone give me scientific evidence that we are going through global warming? When I speak of global warming, I speak of an unnatural rise in the earth’s overall temperature caused by human intervention. I can’t find any scientific evidence that supports the earth’s warming trend isn’t natural, and unfortunately both sides of the argument have politicized the topic so much that the truth will never come out.

Please don’t cite Al Gore’s movie as a reference, because he didn’t use scientific methods to obtain his data. NASA has even updated some its temperature records that were incorrect, which indicates the opposite of what his movie was trying to prove. He won’t be changing his presentation I’m sure, just a sad indication of the fact that people don’t care about the truth but care more about being right.

Here is what I know thus far. Greenhouse are what make the earth inhabitable, but a rise of these gases causes the earth’s temperature to rise. Everyone talks about human CO2 emissions being the big culprit in our demise, but the biggest greenhouse gas is water vapor. How come no one ever addresses this? Wouldn’t water vapor as a waste from hydrogen cars be a problem as well?

On the flip side, the big gas guzzling car drivers like to claim their CO2 outputs are insignificant, that trees are the largest producer of CO2 emissions in the world. While it is true that all living organisms produce CO2 in their process of converting energy for use, and that adds up to a whole lot, these guys never mention is that trees take in CO2 during photosynthesis. From what I’ve read trees are not nearly as efficient in their CO2 uptake as before so the net output may still be positive. Again I don’t have all the information to say for sure.

I’m not prepared to say that global warming is some big conspiracy theory, nor am I prepared to say that everyone should be forced to drive an electric car. I do, however, believe that both sides of the argument need to get their heads out of the asses and figure out what’s really best for our planet. I don’t think it hurts to always be thinking consciously about our environment, but freaking out and passing legislation without really knowing is just plain dumb.

So take it upon yourself to walk instead of drive if you’re running down the block, drink out of your own mug instead of getting a disposable one at the water dispenser, take shorter showers, but never skip on showers. That makes you a hippie, and Eric Cartman hates hippies.
