Okay, so I have no talent…

I’m tired of being a nine to five worker. I want to be Hollywood. Okay, maybe not Hollywood, but I’d like to get paid for minimal work time and those kids on The Hills seems to have something working for them. But I don’t want to be a douche bag. Maybe I can get one of those gigs as a spokesperson for a major corporation?

Surely I could play one of these people and sell products to millions of viewers with one catch phrase that I utter over and over. If they say I don’t have the face for television, this will be my response.

Put the Jack head on! I’m going to work!

Microsoft Just Isn’t Cool

When will Microsoft learn that it is not cool. It’s not about whether the software they write works. (A lot of it doesn’t.) No one brags about running Windows. Their latest campaign makes a nice attempt to making Windows seem easy and fun to use.

Let me tell you what is wrong with this particular commercial. You might have missed it, distracted by cute little girl. The child they are using is not a normal little girl. She may be four, but she is a genius and probably has her PhD in quantum physics. Don’t believe me? Take a look at the commercial again. She is emailing her mom and dad. She’s living on her own!

So really, this commercial doesn’t make people want to have a computer that runs Windows. It makes people want a little Asian girl.

Blast From the Internet Past

As promised I dug through some of my old CDs that I burned in college. It was great finding tons of music videos. What is amazing is the low quality some of these videos. I remember them taking up half of my screen when I was in school. I must have been running a 600-pixel resolution or something, because these videos are tiny on my computer now.

These three videos I dug up are Japanese commercials for a well known athletics gear company. Although these are old and not American commercials, I’d rather not receive take down notices from YouTube. I found these through my Japanese roommate, who was really into Japanese pop culture. He would wake up at 4:00 AM once a week to listen to a Japanese radio show that streamed live over the Internet. He said all three of these videos had famous Japanese rappers do the music.
