The thing about New York…

We knew our last day had to be big, so we started with more eating. After a mixup at Calle Ocho (Boo on Calle Ocho!), we ended up waiting in the cold for Good Enough to Eat.

Their waffles are good enough to eat but not that great. I’d get something with bacon in it instead. Their bacon is thick as all bacon should be in life.

After brunch Alice was kind enough to get some cupcakes for Michelle’s birthday.

The elevator in The Standard had this really creepy movie that played scenes of heaven when taking the elevator up and scenes of hell in red when taking it down.

Michelle’s birthday wish is that everyone drink! She got her wish. After drinking copious amounts of sangria at dinner we headed off to Bowery Electric. They play great music here that makes you want to do terrible 80′s dancing, which really is the best kind of dancing.

Meal #3 of the night. No idea what this restaurant is called.

On the flight home we got to see The Grand Canyon.

It was a great trip, fast and furious. I got to hang out in different scenery with a lot of the LA folks and got to see a lot of my friends temporarily stationed in New York. I say temporarily, because they all come back for the weather. They all do. New York’s a great place for one reason. All its greatness is rolled into one compact, phallic-shaped peninsula. It would drive me nuts to have that much going on so near me all the time. I’ll keep my quiet life, where I eat less than six meals a day.

MC Mile High

Why is he rapping like it’s the 1980′s? My favorite part is at 1:30 into the video they pan to the other black guy on the plane and stay on him, as if hoping for him to start break dancing. He didn’t, but he did talk through the in flight movie.

Hello from the Future.

I am in Michigan right now for work. Since I’m three hours ahead, does that mean if I publish this now, you will see it in three hours? I think the Internet has time zones too, right?

I’m tired from travelling all day after being at a wedding. I flew into Chicago, drove through Indiana, and here I am. Originally my dad was going to drive us, and we were going to leave the car at the airport. This morning he popped his head into the room to change the plans.

Dad: Mom is going to drop us off instead.
Me: That’s great, but it’s 5:00 AM. Turn off my light and close my door.
Dad: I saw the clock. I thought it said 6:00 AM.
Me: It’s not. Leave me alone for another half hour.
Dad: I was wondering why it was so dark outside.
Me: You’re still here? I’m trying to sleep!

I’m beat, like a little red headed stepchild. See you guys tomorrow.

Wedding Weekend

This weekend was Tiffany and Ivan’s wedding in San Francisco. I flew out Friday night after work. It took me such a long time to get the airport in the rain. I was so frustrated with all the traffic that I decided to treat myself to a first class seat on one of Virgin America’s new planes. I made my money back on free drinks, six on the plane, and one to go.

These are the seat controls. You can stretch out, not like those chumps, ten feet back in coach.

Watching Superbad my screen.

I arrived at SFO and Kyung was there to pick me up. We picked up my cousin Trevor and met up with Harrison and Annie in the Marina area. We had a few beers, watched some Entourage, tried to solve a Rubik’s Cube, and called it a night.
