Unexpected Lessons in Parenting

It’s been a while since I’ve posted here. You’ve seen the thousands of photos I’ve posted, but that’s easy to do. Let’s face it. Having a baby consumes your life, but it teaches you great lessons too. Sitting and watching Maggie slowly develop a personality is one of the most incredible things I’ve witnessed in my life. I’ve learned so much about sacrifice, patience, and love from this baby.

One more lesson I learned is that piracy is bad. I know what you’re thinking. How the heck would Maggie teach me that lesson? We recently discovered that Maggie responds to high pitched vocals much better and will laugh and laugh when you do high pitched squeals. Being the lazy father that I am, I decided that Alvin and the Chipmunks could help me out in my falsetto sing-alongs. I perused the web and found something called Greatest Hits. It had classics that I grew up with like Wooly Bully, La Bamba, and Purple People Eater. I was playing it for her and then I heard this.

  Alvin and the Chipmunks

Someone pulled a fast one and inserted some tracks that were sped up, tracks that Alvin and the Chipmunks would never cover and that no respectable parent would play for their children (except me). Some other great tracks included are Crank Dat Soulja Boy, I’m Too Sexy, Bohemian Rhapsody, and The Real Slim Shady.

I’m guessing the Yo Gabba Gabba cover of NWA’s Straight Outta Compton I downloaded is probably a fake too.
